Here is a grab shot of Celtics guard Rajon Rondo during practice as I waited for a editorial photo shoot take place at the Boston Celtics Training Facility in Waltham, MA. I will post photos of our portrait subject, guard Nate Robinson, and clips after the magazine’s publication.
I photographed a wonderful story for the New York Times about the charity Small Can Be Big and one of the charity’s beneficiaries. What makes the charity different is that it concentrates on small donations that directly benefit cases that are posted on their website. The average donation is $15 and is mostly solicited through social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Small Can Be Big is operated by John Connors, who is also the founder of Boathouse Group Advertising Agency in Waltham, MA, and his staff.
The family I photographed who was helped by the charity was Raquel Rohlfing and her son Mikalo, 5. Mikalo was diagnosed with Leukemia which forced Ms. Rohlfing to sell all of their belongings to finance her son’s treatment which included a bone marrow transplant. $1500 was raised through Small Can Be Big which allowed Mother and Son to move into an apartment in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston.

I photographed the cover photo, “Gym Rats” and the “Off the Field” features for the Nov. 2010 issue of Lacrosse Magazine in September. The subjects photographed were John Ortolani, MMA Fighter and faceoff specialist for the Boston Blazers’ and Boston Canons, Boston University’s Corcoran Downey, Brown University and women’s Team USA member Paris Waterman and Tufts University player D.J. Hessler.
