I have wanted to photograph Dick and Rick Hoyt ever since I heard about their story. They are a father and son running team that participates in triathlons and marathons including Boston. What makes them so unique is that the son Rick is suffers from cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound. He is unable to move his limbs or speak, but his mind is sharp. Team Hoyt as they are called have competed in more than a thousand races since 1977. They raise money through running and speaking engagements for the Hoyt Fund which enhances the lives and mobility of people with disabilities. A truly inspirational story.

They used the second photo below for the lead of a story about the top stadiums in Major League Baseball. The issue is currently on news stands. I was happy to see Jason Bay named as a starter recently to the 2009 All Star gamer. He was extremely friendly and accommodating. Afterwards I hung out for the beginning of batting practice and got some shots in the dugout of Dustin Pedroia and Julio Lugo which are below.
The story was about Hall-of-Fame caliber players who spent their whole careers with one team and now are playing their first year for another franchise. Taylor was a Jacksonville Jaguar from 1998-2008. He could not have been a nicer guy. Thanks a lot to Casey O’Connell of the Patriots for all of his help!
